Hi! My name is David Halterman and I've lived in Denver since 1964. Along with my wife Holly, an Educational Therapist and Trainer (www.hollygraves.com), and my daughter Laura, currently a psychology and cretive writing major at The University of Colorado at Denver, and 2 Ragdoll cats (Esther and Jazzpurr), we live in the 500 S. block of Pontiac Wy. - the Winston Downs neighborhood in East Denver.

I started selling real estate in 1984 with a company called Dunton Realty - now a commercial brokerage. During the 'recession' of the 1980's I sold a foreclosed property that was listed by Bob Aspinwall of Van Schaack & Company in Cherry Creek, Colorado's oldest privately owned real estate company (eventually swallowed up by Coldwell Banker). Van Schaack was considered the industry standard for professionalism in Denver real estate and Bob recruited me to work there.

In the '90's I spent a couple of years at The Devonshire Company (a high-end 'boutique' company) in Cherry Creek before arriving at RE/MAX of Cherry Creek in 1994. That was a good move for me, as RE/MAX gave me the support, tools, exposure and market position to bring my client services to a higher level - and I've been there ever since.

Life before real estate. Have you noticed that good real estate agents always have a pretty interesting 'back-story'? I've worked and played with the best brokers in Denver Real Estate, and some of them were teachers, bartenders, nurses, and aerobics instructors in their past lives.

I graduated from The University of Denver's Lamont School of Music in 1977, after which I taught music and tuned and repaired pianos for a couple of years; then I wrote a successful educational grant proposal with my wife through the Bureau of Education for the Handicapped (HCEEP) which we administered in Adams County for several years. Next stop was real estate.

I still play jazz piano professionally at a number of local venues. Check out my jazz group at www.denverjazzband.com. Staying involved in creative pursuits keeps me sharp and provides an important diversion from the pressures of real estate sales and marketing. Also I'm finding that being a little bit 'right-brained' is increasingly useful in a rapidly-changing, technology-driven marketplace.

Slightly Geeky. Guilty as charged. I like technology, photography, design and all things digital. I built this web site and everything on it (hey, it's not that bad . . . ) and I'm webmaster for Holly's business, too.

If you're looking for a broker who has extensive knowledge of homes in Denver, can position your home to compete successfully with other homes and neighborhoods, is able to demonstrate the value of our homes to Buyers, Brokers and appraisers, knows the law and can keep you out of trouble . . . look no further.
