Denver Wedding Music

Wedding Music for Your Ceremony

"Music has great power to draw us together, to touch us deep in our souls, at the place far beneath where language begins. In fact nothing, not even the setting, will do more to create the mood and spirit of your wedding." Daphne Rose Kingma, Weddings from the Heart

The spoken parts of your ceremony will resonate more deeply when set off or punctuated by music. Music helps create a reflective mood, and when paired with the spoken word helps you and your guests have a deeper feeling for what is being said. Consider using music as a meditative punctuation after a reading, the address, or exchange of vows.

Allow the music to be a reflection of your feelings and preferences, and feel free to select something non-traditional if it has meaning for you and is appropriate for the setting.

If you know a singer, composer, flautist, or guitarist, it would be great to include their original talent in your wedding. Don't be afraid to ask; most musicians will be delighted to perform even if they're not top-flight professionals. If they need an accompanist, I can accommodate most situations with some notice and preparation.

If you're considering using some popular music in your ceremony, be sure and consult with your clergy or religous official to make sure what you're doing is appropriate and acceptable to them. Something contemporary and meaningful works well as a solo performed by a talented friend or relative.

The following are mostly drawn from 20th Century film and theatre, and can work well during that time before the ceremony when mixed with other things like Chopin Preludes and Nocturnes. Romantic, beautiful and timeless melodies with a bit more contemporary harmony. Nice!
